How to get Dhiraagu edirectory onto iPhone
by yasiph
Dhiraagu edirectory has been a very useful tool for many years, thanks to Dhiraagu, they are the only Service provider who gives this service on internet locally. Anyway, I know that every local mobile user would die to get an app that displays the this service into their phone so enough blabbering and here’s how I’ve done it;

First you will need:
- A jailbroken iPhone
- iphonebrowser(http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/downloads/list)
- MCallShow 1.3 app(http://mcleaner.com/iphone_mcallshow.jsp)
- e-Directory database
Zipped edirectory v20090412 (10.1 MiB, 1,154 hits)
MCallShow:
First of all, I installed MCallShow using Cydia. MCallShow costs $4.99 and can be bought via Paypal. After installing it, download the e-Directory and unzip it to a temporary folder. Now, run iphonebrowser and copy the file “960.mdb”(which is about 30MB) to the mobile under the path /Applications/MCallShow.app/mdb/. In this way, the number database in the mobile is updated. Reboot the mobile and Voila! It works on Incoming calls, Outgoing calls, Missed calls in Recents and detects all calls generated automatically. And the beauty of all this is that I can now install this to a friend’s iPhone without a wifi, thanks to ibluetooth.
Take note that the database file has been generated from e-Directory provided by Jawish on his blog which is his fourth update since early 2007. So all credit goes to him for making this happen. Jawish did make a Windows Mobile application similar to this named “Pocket110“. It’s the same functionality that you will get by installing MCallShow on iPhone.
Also pls note that “960.mdb” is an update till 12th April 2009. An update would definitely require another article how to generate the “960.mdb” from the .csv file from Jaa.
Update: 16-July-2009
MCallShow has released 1.4 which they say works with iPhone Firmware 3.0 but it really doesn’t. See this post.

Nice! Good stuff dude
Great work buddy! Its very handy.
e-directory file from your blog is about 9mb. So it doesnt work. where can we get 30MB file
I haven’t changed that file irax. Maybe your internet was interrupted for you to get a 9MB file! The zipped version available for download is 11.8MB and when unzipped, it is 30MB.
Try downloading it again.
i tried. but the same problem. Can you please check it for yourself and let me know.
You were right my friend. I have fixed it now. Thanks for notifying me.
Is the database up-to-date? Good stuff.
@Ashraf, yeah the database is the latest one by Jaa(jawish.org) which is until 2009 April 12(see filename: Zipped edirectory v20090412)
Talked with Jinna who tried MCallshow 1.4 and 1.3 on iPhone Firmware 3.0.1 and it seems that 3.0.1 doesn’t support this. So as of now, iPhone fw 3.0 or 3.0.1 doesn’t fully support this.
checked mcallshow 1.4 with iphone 3.1.2 no luck.
no luck with 3.1.2 evn with cracked mcallshow 1.4
